The Stars of Summer:Clematis Rendered in Pan Pastel and Colored Pencil

On Thursday July 11, 2019

Event Time 10:00 am - 3:30 pm

Layering pan pastels and colored pencils is a dynamic technique that creates vibrant color and delicate details.

Using close observation, you will learn to create the texture and form needed to render a clematis plant including the flowers, buds , leaves and climbing vine. You will begin with a graphite sketch of your plant arranging the plant parts into a composition. Next you will render your artwork using pan pastels to lay down large areas of color and the pencils for the fine details.

Maximum 10 students. A two day workshop  Thursday, July 11 and Friday, July 12 from 10-3:30

Please bring a bag lunch. Water, soft drinks and snacks will be provided. A materials list will be emailed with your registration confirmation.

This workshop is taught by Jeanne Reiner, co-founder of Tri-State Botanical Artists. She is a nationally recognized botanical artist who holds a certificate in botanical art from the New York Botanical Garden where she also teaches. Her work has been widely exhibited throughout the United States.
