Colored pencil is a versatile medium for creating brilliantly colored patterns such as those seen on Monarchs. Through using a variety of techniques including color layering and burnishing you will find this medium to be perfect for capturing the intricate details and different color densities of these beautiful creatures. This workshop will focus exclusively on developing colored pencil skills – you will be working with a template of a Monarch provided by the instructor, Jeanne Reiner.
Jeanne Reiner is co-founder of the Tri-State Botanical Artists, a chapter of over 70 members of the internationally renown American Society of Botanical Artists. A Connecticut resident, her work is frequently exhibited there and in New York, Florida and California.
