Introduction to Botanical Watercolor, a two day workshop designed for beginners, will use simple seasonal plants as subjects as you learn the basic drawing and watercolor techniques necessary to create a botanical painting. The class will consist of step-by-step demonstrations, discussions, classroom exercises and critiques. The techniques covered include accurate drawing, color mixing, layering of transparent washes and dry brush.
Widen your horizons and have fun exploring a new venture under the direction of noted botanical artist Betsy Rogers-Knox. An artist since childhood, Betsy received a Certificate in Botanical Illustration from the New York Botanical Garden. Her work has been shown widely in the US and was exhibited in London at the Royal Horticultural Botanical Art Show 2016 where she was recognized with the prestigious Silver Gilt Award.
